Timothy W. Mizerowski is the principal shareholder of Mizerowski & Associates, P.C. In practice since 1990, he initially specialized in litigation matters, both insurance claims and commercial disputes, and now his practice has evolved to include commercial transactional and banking matters. His extensive insurance defense litigation experience includes first and third party automobile litigation, premises liability claims, and insurance coverage disputes. He also is involved in the defense of professional liability matters involving attorneys, agents, and brokers. Mr. Mizerowski has litigated real estate and title insurance claims as well as worker’s compensation claims.

His corporate business experience includes the formation and representation of numerous companies in varying business silos such as: banking, high tech, non-profit, manufacturing, commercial furniture distribution and construction companies. He regularly counsels clients investigating business opportunities, drafts corporate documents and participates in strategic business planning. Not only is his corporate involvement in transactional matters, he is also regularly involved in complex commercial litigation for the firm's business clients.

Mr. Mizerowski has tried to verdict numerous cases involving heavy truck, automobile and amusement park accidents, as well as claims before the Worker’s Compensation Board of Magistrates. Additionally, Mr. Mizerowski has successfully defended numerous corporations and professionals utilizing Alternative Dispute Resolution including binding Arbitration and Facilitative Mediation.

Receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 1987, Mr. Mizerowski earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law in 1990. While at the Detroit College of Law, he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Corporations and was awarded the Manufacturer’s National Bank Scholarship for outstanding legal scholarship.

A member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association, Mr. Mizerowski also is an active member of the Defense Research Institute and Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Association. Mr. Mizerowski is licensed to practice in both the Eastern and Western United States Federal District Courts for Michigan. Recently, he was admitted to the United States Federal Court of Claims.

Mr. Mizerowski has had several reported decisions in the Michigan Court of Appeals Reporter including Auto Owners v. Perry, 223 Mich App 1 (1997) and Auto Owners v. Michigan Mutual, et al., 223 Mich App 205 (1997). He served as a lecturer at the National Business Institute’s Michigan Labor and Employment Law Seminar since 1998 and the Michigan Risk and Insurance Managers Annual Meeting.

Mr. Mizerowski regularly acts as a teacher and trainer to numerous regional and national insurance companies and corporations, lecturing on new developments in the Michigan No-Fault Law and Worker’s Compensation law.

Margaret A. Schiano is an Associate Attorney of Mizerowski & Associates, P.C. Ms. Schiano has been practicing law for over 17 years. She is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and New York.

Ms. Schiano has experience in all aspects of civil litigation including complex commercial litigation, collections, landlord tenant disputes, probate matters, real estate disputes and divorce proceedings. Ms. Schiano's current clients include financial institutions, multi-national corporations, as well as small businesses. She regularly counsels her clients on day to day business issues and on litigated issues as well as any litigation which may arise. These issues include foreclosures, collection matters, and Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proceedings.

In addition to representing corporations and other businesses, Ms. Schiano also represents individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy proceedings including adversarial proceedings. Addionally, Ms. Schiano is a certified Guadian Ad Litem for both children and adults. She also is regularly appointed as a Parenting Coordinator for the Oakland County Probate Court. She is well versed in Family Law matters as well as all areas of Probate proceedings.

Ms. Schiano received her A.B. in English from Xavier University in 1985 and her J.D. from the University of Dayton in 1988. While at the University of Dayton, Ms. Schiano was President of the Third Year class, a member of the Admissions Committee and was recognized in Who’s Who among American Law Students in 1988.

Ms. Schiano is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of New York. She is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York and the United States Bankruptcy Court. In 2003, Ms. Schiano received the Trial Advocacy Award from the Monroe County Bar Association.

Ms. Schiano has been a lecturer at Continuing Legal Education seminars since 1999.

Bob Conlon is an Associate Attorney with Mizerowski & Associates. Mr. Conlon is a business minded attorney with extensive commercial transactions, intellectual property, advertising, and entertainment law experience.

Prior to joining Mizerowski & Associates, Mr. Conlon was a Vice President, Attorney with a prominent national advertising agency. In this capacity, Mr. Conlon provided counsel to some of the largest national advertisers on a broad spectrum of issues, including: advertising, sweepstakes and promotions, tours and events, celebrity negotiations, talent guilds, vendor contracts, production contracts, music licensing, internet and e-commerce, and intellectual property.

Mr. Conlon also served as in-house counsel with the industry leading trademark licensing agency. In this capacity, Mr. Conlon provided counsel in support of the largest corporate trademark licensing program in the world. Mr. Conlon’s responsibilities included: drafting and negotiating trademark licensing agreements, product and advertising compliance reviews, anti-infringement activities, and trademark portfolio management.

Mr. Conlon has a unique perspective of the advertising and intellectual property area having earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Arts from Western Michigan University in 1992 and working for several years as a graphic designer before attending law school. Mr. Conlon earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Mr. Conlon worked with the Marketing and Trade Regulations group for the legal staff of a prominent automotive manufacturer.
